Howard Wang, O.D., provides eye care for individuals and families in Carlsbad, with deep roots in the community and a practice built around patient education and trust.

Community Outreach & Global Vision Care
Dr. Wang is deeply committed to expanding access to eye care both locally and globally. He has volunteered with organizations including SVOSH, VOSH, OneSight, Optometry Giving Sight, and the Lions Club, providing vision care to underserved communities.
From 2013 to 2019, Dr. Wang served as a lead doctor for OneSight in South County San Diego, where teams examined between 800 and 1,200 children over five-day clinics and provided glasses when needed. He has also served as a lead doctor on SVOSH mission trips to Costa Rica, where more than 900 patients were seen over multiple trips and provided with eye exams and glasses.
In addition, Dr. Wang has volunteered in international clinics in Nicaragua, where care was provided to approximately 1,600 patients in five days, and in Nepal, where teams examined more than 500 patients over four days. These experiences reflect his long-standing belief that clear vision plays a meaningful role in education, opportunity, and overall quality of life.
